Event Transfers
We understand that plans can change, so here are your options for transferring your registration for the Hapalua. Please review the details below:
Transfer Options
If you still need one of these transfer options after registration has closed, you can visit the Late Registration desk at the Expo. These transfers will be subject to availability.
Switch from the Half Marathon to the Iki
- Open the Manage your registration link in your confirmation email.
- Click Manage on the booking you want to transfer and select Transfer
- Select Transfer to another race within this event.
- Continue to the registration site; the Hapalua IKI will appear as the only option
- $30 switch fee
Transfer to Another Person
- Open the Manage your registration link in your confirmation email.
- Click Manage on the booking you want to transfer and select Transfer.
- Select Transfer to a friend.
- Enter the new participant’s name and email.
- They will receive a link to complete their registration and pay the $30 switch fee.
Switch to the Virtual Event
- Participants may transfer their in-person Hapalua Half-Marathon entry to the Virtual Hapalua.

- Self-Service Transfers: You can complete most transfers on your own using the ‘Manage My Booking’ link in your confirmation email.

Upgrade from the Iki to the Hapalua Half
- Please contact [email protected] who can help you transfer to the Hapalua Half Marathon
- They can provide credit for what you have already paid so you are left to pay the difference between the two events.
Important Notes
- Transfers must be completed before the event takes place.
- Fees, if applicable, are non-refundable.
Refund Protection
All race entries are non refundable unless refund protection was purchased as an add on during registration.
To initiate a refund claim, follow the link in your confirmation email or on your
Manage Registration page.
Refunds claims are not handled by the Honolulu Marathon Association, but by the Refund Protect Group, and the Honolulu Marathon Association cannot influence or change or influence any decisions by Refund Protect.
Refund Protect Group consider the following reason, subject to their General Conditions of Refund:
- Illness / Injury (including Covid)
- Pre-existing Medical Condition
- Pregnancy Complication
- Death of an Immediate Family Member
- Public Transport Failure
- Flight Disruption
- Transport Breakdown
- Severe Weather
- Home Emergency
- Theft of Documents
- Workplace Redundancy
- Jury Service
- Court Summons
- Armed Forces & Emergency Services Recall
- Relocated for Work
- Changes to Examination Dates
