About the Hapalua – Hawaii’s Half Marathon

The Hapalua – Hawaii’s Half Marathon race will be back on April 13 2025, starting in Waikiki and finishing 13.1 miles later in Kapiolani Park.
There are no qualifications to enter and runners and walkers are equally welcome. There is no time limit at the Hapalua.

Turn by Turn Course Description
The race begins at the statue of Duke Kahanamoku on Kalakaua Ave, with runners proceeding in a westward direction on Kalakaua Avenue.

Runners will turn left on Atkinson Dr past the Hawaii Convention Center and proceed past the Ala Moana shopping center on Ala Moana Boulevard.

Runners will continue west on Ala Moana Blvd and onto Aloha Tower Drive.

Runners will make turn by the Aloha Tower to return on Aloha Tower Drive on the ocean side and continue onto Ala Moana Boulevard.

Continuing on Ala Moana Blv past Magic Island and crossing the Ala Wai canal and continuing into Waikiki.

The course takes a right to Kalakaua Avenue going east towards Diamond Head.

Runners will continue past the Honolulu Zoo and then turn right on Paki Ave on the east side of Kapiolani Park.
The course then goes up Diamond Head Road for the first incline.

Continuing past the light house with views from Diamond Head Road, the course turns around at Triangle Park and then back along Diamond Head Road and down to Kalakaua Avenue and into Kapiolani Park and the finish line!
