Hapalua Relay
Get a team together and have some fun in the Hapalua Relay!
The relay is open to all age groups and teams must be made up of four to seven runners.
The relay will be run around Kapiolani Park and the finish line will be the same as for the Half Marathon race. Click here for a course map.
The relay is a fun way for schools, kids and corporate teams to get involved in the Hapalua.
Download the Relay Waiver form that must be signed by each team member and the parent/guardian of any runner under 18 years old. Please bring the signed waiver(s) with you when you pick up the runner bibs and timing chips!
Relay Information
The Hapalua Relay will be held at Kapiolani Park on Sunday March 10, 2013 at 7:15AM. Teams will complete 7 laps around the park.
Teams will be made up of 7 runners and no less than 4. Each runner will complete 1 loop around the park then handoff in the Exchange Zone near the Finish Line.
One lap around the park is 1.8 miles for a total of 12.6 miles or 20K.
Course and Start Areas
Relay Teams are requested to report to their starting line at Kapiolani Park around the finish line area no later than 6:00am for their race briefing and final instructions. The race briefing will give specific details concerning the relay. ALL relay participants are required to attend this briefing.
1. Lead Runner starts on the Waikiki side of the finish line. The Exchange Zone is after the finish line.
2. The finish line chute will be lined with barricades separating finishing athletes from relay athletes.
3. TURN #1 RIGHT (Kalakaua/Monsarrat) merge with marathon runners (coning creates the merge).
4. TURN #2 RIGHT (Monsarrat/Paki) onto Paki stay to the right (tight coning all of Paki for vehicle separation).
5. TURN #3 RIGHT (Paki/Kalakaua) merge with marathon runners (coning creates the merge).
6. Teams take their handoff inside the exchange zone
Categories and Awards
The top finishing team in each category get awards.

Mixed (min 2 of the opposite gender)

After March 4, 2013, late registration will be accepted only during Packet Pick-Up days and times.
Cash, Traveler’s Checks or Credit Card — MC, VISA or AMEX.
No personal checks will be accepted.

Packet Pick-Up
All registered teams must pick up their own packets at the Hawaii Convention Center on either March 8th or 9th.
Team Captains can select another member to pickup the packets if they are not able to.
